Fantastic Drupal Training Experience

tnorman | Drupal 7 | Expert in Drupal 7

I have had experience with Drupal 5, 6 and 7 before taking this class. I had only dabbled in starting to create a module for Drupal 6 several years ago. Though I have always wanted to start Drupal development since I started playing with it in version 5, I was always busy with something esle and wasn't sure if I could do it.

I breezed through the first two sections of the course, the beginners and the intermediate. When I was about to the advanced section, we had a family crisis along with my regular job losing 3 people which caused my work hours to dramatically increase. I finally got back to the class about 3 months later expecting myself to breeze through the advance section and not realizing I only had a month to finish the class under the timeline. Fran and the Forcontu family were wonderful. They allowed me to extend my training by purchasing additional time.

I thoroughly enjoyed the class. There is a bit of Spanish to English translation problems with the pdf files here and there, but being able to ask questions about pretty much anything helped clear up any issues. And having the resources of other students who were also participating in the forums to ask questions helped becase sometimes the questions were already asked and answered in the forums.

The final for each section of the class were well done. They put to use the information used in that section and sometimes pushed you back to earlier information. My final project was challenging. Though I have created websites before, usually for myself or a friend, creating a website for something you choose means you could make it as hard or as easy as you'd like. I chose to make mine challenging for myself.

I worked on creating a website for the group CO Smiles which is a not-for-profit group based in Denver, Colorado that creates professional photographs for those who cannot afford professional photography or who are in a time of need in their lives. For example, the group offered the families whose homes were destroyed in forest fires to have free family photographs taken. CO Smiles also regularly gives family portraiture to those going through difficult situations at the Ronald McDonald Houses in Denver and Aurora. They also work with families who are making their ways into better life situations through charities around Denver.

Building a website for them was something I knew they wouldn't use since the group tends towards Facebook. It helped to know the group pretty thoroughly to know what would be needed and wanted, but at the same time it made my plans constantly change as I went along since I would think about new features I could implement or things I could do.

To summarize, if someone is thinking about starting Drupal training with Forcontu. Do it. I had a wonderful experience. In my class there were people who were obviously very adept at Drupal and some who struggled to get through. Our teacher was there to help all along the way, even if you had a question on the final project or on an exam.

I'm hoping to put my new learned knowledge into practice in building websites and hope to find a junior Drupal developer position. I can be found at TimNormanPhoto.com which is, and always will be, a website I have. Photography is a long time love too. If someone wants to ask me a question or follow up, please feel free to contact me there. Feel free to tweet at me too. Twitter.com/TimNorman.

Wow, what an intensive journey!  Completing the Drupal Back-End Development course definitely took persistence, and I’ll admit there were moments when I wondered if I’d make it through.

A huge thanks to Fran for the guidance, encouragement, and support throughout this process—it truly made all the difference.

You won't regret it

With more than five years of experience working with Drupal, the Drupal 10 Back-End Development manual has allowed me to organize and deepen the knowledge I had previously acquired in a more practical and scattered way. Many of the features I already used in my daily work took on new meaning when I studied them from a theoretical basis and applied them in the proposed activities. This helped me reinforce fundamentals, discover details I had overlooked, and, above all, better understand... [read more]

My experience in the Drupal 10 Master

The experience of learning Drupal 10 with these courses has been intense, but very enriching. The practical exercises, although challenging, have forced me to face real problems and think of complete solutions, integrating Front-End, Back-End, and Site Building.

At first, some sections seemed complex to me, especially custom module programming and advanced entity management, but with patience and practice, I have managed to understand how everything fits together in a real project.... [read more]

More geared toward programmers than designers

FORCONTU's Expert in Drupal 10 Front-End course is very comprehensive but is aimed more at programmers than designers. For me, as programming is very difficult, I found it very hard to complete. There are numerous exercises, which means you learn a lot, but you also have to invest a lot of time in tasks that are not going to be part of any real project, although there is also a final activity where you can develop one. You have to be patient because the Drupal manager will give you a lot of... [read more]

Drupal 10 Back-End Training

I found it to be a very comprehensive course, with some sections being quite challenging, but it provides a broad level of knowledge and a fairly in-depth understanding of the subject matter.

I started taking these courses because of a requirement at work, but they are sparking my desire to work with this technology. I am increasingly eager to start completing personal and work projects, applying everything I have learned in real and challenging situations.

If you are a junior,... [read more]

Certification and significant contribution of knowledge

caneteman | Drupal 10 | Expert in Drupal 10 Site Building

I have been working with Drupal for over 15 years, starting with Drupal 6, then mainly Drupal 7, which is where I have carried out the vast majority of my projects, and lately, of course, Drupal 8, 9, 10, and some Drupal 11. For work reasons, I need the certificate, as it is increasingly required for jobs and tenders. What was going to be a simple formality has become a continuous learning experience. Seeing how things are done from another perspective, seeing modules that I have not worked... [read more]

The Expert in Drupal 9 Back-End Development course has been a very comprehensive and enriching learning experience. Although I already had experience in web development and had previously worked with Drupal, this program has allowed me to consolidate and deepen my knowledge, especially in key areas such as creating custom modules, advanced entity management, service integration, and queue implementation using the Drupal API.

Forcontu's methodology is very well structured, with... [read more]

A very comprehensive course

The truth is that it has been a very comprehensive course. I have been working with Drupal for three years and a couple of months now, and I consider that I have done everything and touched on practically all the APIs, and even so, I was surprised by the course because it explained details and functionalities that I did not know about.

The course structure is clear, progressive, and designed so that each topic is understood from the ground up, which allows you to reinforce basic... [read more]
