A Drupalling I will go with Forcontu

My experience with Drupal started a few years ago when version 5 came out. At the time I was a newspaper/magazine photographer and was looking to branch out into freelance photograpy and knew I wanted a Content Managagement System to help keep my website up to date with new content. I explored several of CMS's including Joomla and WordPress, but eventually settled on Drupal because of the community. WordPress was popular for photographers, but I thought I would want to have more flexibility.

My first Drupal website was Drupal version 5.0. And then I started fresh with Drupal 6 when it came out a couple years later. The last build of  the freelance photographer site at http://www.timnormanphoto.com was for version 6.  I delved decently deep into Drupal 6 and wrote some small modules to help with the site. Nothing fancy though.

With so many photographers out of work and finding new jobs, I thought it might be a good idea to start in a new career as I could see my friends losing jobs and finding new careers.I've enjoyed Drupal and the Drupal community, so a Drupalling I would go.

The beginner and intermediate sections for learning Drupal 7 with Forcontu have been interesting. I've never taken an online course like this, but I thought it would help learn the differences between Drupal 6 and Drupal 7 as well as get my feet back into Drupal developing. Much of Drupal 7 is the same or similar to Drupal 6. The advance section for the course, which is coming up, will be where I'm going to enjoy sinking my teeth into.

The overall experience has been challenging at times in juggling outside work and life while continuing with course work. You set your own schedule and pace which helps with how fast you are learning or how much you may already know. The moderator/teacher has been wonderfully helpful and forgiving when late nights on my job lead to sleepy nights while going thru the course work.

I have learned about modules and sections of Drupal 7 that I didn't have experience with nor knew about. It is an educational course, and I've enjoyed the work. I'm about to start on the next section, the advance section, and that should provide a whole new challenge and learning level.

The knowledge I learn in this course should help me rebuild my current site and hopefully give me a basis to start a career as a junior Drupal developer.  If you know of someone looking for some extra help on a site or a job opening, please let me know.

I have learned a lot, but it has also cost me. I didn't know anything about Drupal and I haven't developed recently and it has been a challenge to progress, although the tutor, Fran Gil, is always available if you have to ask him to help you with anything.

I recommend it if you are interested in learning about Drupal. It will always be useful to know about web development, php, html, etc...

What I value most positively is that it is a very practical course. It is also the most... [read more]

I have been working with Drupal for a couple of years, and this course has been very helpful in reinforcing and solidifying my knowledge of Drupal. Although I already had some prior experience, the content allowed me to consolidate key concepts and discover new functionalities that I wasn’t deeply familiar with. I also greatly appreciate that the provided documentation remains available for future reference, which will help me continue learning and applying what I’ve learned to real projects... [read more]

The Drupal 10 Back-End course has been a real challenge, especially because of the complexity of some of its concepts and the technical depth involved in developing with this CMS. However, thanks to a clear, progressive and well-structured methodology, it has been possible to advance safely in each module.
The practices proposed throughout the course have been fundamental to consolidate the acquired knowledge, allowing to apply the theory directly on real cases.
Despite the effort... [read more]

I came to the course with some previous experience in web development, but without a solid foundation in Drupal. The learning curve at the beginning was steep, especially because of the modular structure of the system and the intensive use of YAML, but thanks to Forcontu's step-by-step methodology and the practical approach of the activities, I managed not only to understand how Drupal works thoroughly, but to apply good development practices from the very first moment.

The course... [read more]

The Drupal 10 Back-end development course offers a good training to get started in the development of this CMS. The syllabus tries to cover all the fundamental aspects of backend development, from the basics to the most advanced implementations. For pure extension of the subject to be taught can not delve at the same level in all topics so I would recommend a good review once completed to those topics that have most interested or generated some difficulty.

The chapters dedicated to the... [read more]

After completing the Drupal 10 Back-End Expert course, I can only say that it has met my expectations. It is a training designed with logic, well structured and focused on the real work that you will find if you dedicate yourself to the development with Drupal.
 What I liked the most:

  • Progressive learning, without detours: from the basics to more advanced concepts such as queues, cron, custom entities or plugins. Each unit builds on the... [read more]

I just finished this course and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. From the first day, it stood out for its practical and well-structured approach, something fundamental to learn a complex CMS like Drupal.

What I value most:
Flexibility: Being able to do it online and adjust the schedule to my rhythm was key to combine my obligations.
Clear and ordered content: The modules are very well organised, with exercises that reinforce the theory and real back-end... [read more]

Having completed the master's degree, and always in broad strokes, I leave a few lines with what has been my experience.

To begin with, the course is very complete, both in terms of content and the way in which you learn, very dynamic and practical. It is for this last reason that I also consider the methodology to be very successful.

Nothing is given for free at all. You have to make an effort and learn a lot and well along the way, otherwise you will not get ahead.

The Forcontu Drupal 10 Site Building course provides a solid foundation for creating and managing websites without programming. It covers the extensive tool that is Drupal in a structured and detailed way. The materials provided and practical exercises greatly reinforce and strengthen the learning.

The course is manageable even without prior knowledge of the system, which is a relief for absolute beginners. Even so, it is a highly recommended option for those who are looking to delve... [read more]
