![]() My Drupal Experience
Joe Stramel | Drupal 7 | Expert in Drupal 7
20 June, 2015 Thank you for reading my blog post about my experience with Drupal. I have been working with Drupal for a little over two years, and have previously built a Drupal site for my employer. I identified an area of our business that was operating with significant inefficiencies. I realized that by using a content management system hundreds of hours of manual labor could be eliminated and accuracy could be increased. I began reviewing different CMS platforms before selecting Drupal. I was attracted to its flexibilty, ability to be customized and large community support. A number of high profile sites using Drupal was a great endorsement as well. I began by installing Drupal core, and learning by trial and error. I reviewed Drupal content and training articles everywhere I could find. After a few months of working like this I had my site operational. I used a number of contributed modules including: Views, Panels, Organic Groups, Rules, Features, VBO, and Feeds. These robust modules took a great deal of time to master, but in the end I am very pleased with the initial version of the site, and it worked very well in production. I have decided that I would like to build a career out of developing Drupal sites, so I enrolled in the Forcontu course "Expert in Drupal 7." I was well versed in much of the early and intermediate material, but having no previous formal training I wanted to be sure that all of the holes in my knowledge were filled. Indeed, there was something new to be learned in each section. I feel that this course offers quality instruction that has gone a long way to make me a confident developer. There is always a need to continue learning and growing, which I will do through manuals, and hopefully soon, community events. I am eager to meet other Drupalists and exchange ideas and experiences. If you are passionate about Drupal like I am, then I invite you to connect with me via my social media links below. Thank you very much for reading! 06 June, 2025 I have learned a lot, but it has also cost me. I didn't know anything about Drupal and I haven't developed recently and it has been a challenge to progress, although the tutor, Fran Gil, is always available if you have to ask him to help you with anything. I recommend it if you are interested in learning about Drupal. It will always be useful to know about web development, php, html, etc... What I value most positively is that it is a very practical course. It is also the most... [read more] |

28 May, 2025 I have been working with Drupal for a couple of years, and this course has been very helpful in reinforcing and solidifying my knowledge of Drupal. Although I already had some prior experience, the content allowed me to consolidate key concepts and discover new functionalities that I wasn’t deeply familiar with. I also greatly appreciate that the provided documentation remains available for future reference, which will help me continue learning and applying what I’ve learned to real projects... [read more] |

28 May, 2025 The Drupal 10 Back-End course has been a real challenge, especially because of the complexity of some of its concepts and the technical depth involved in developing with this CMS. However, thanks to a clear, progressive and well-structured methodology, it has been possible to advance safely in each module. |

27 May, 2025 I came to the course with some previous experience in web development, but without a solid foundation in Drupal. The learning curve at the beginning was steep, especially because of the modular structure of the system and the intensive use of YAML, but thanks to Forcontu's step-by-step methodology and the practical approach of the activities, I managed not only to understand how Drupal works thoroughly, but to apply good development practices from the very first moment. The course... [read more] |

26 May, 2025 The Drupal 10 Back-end development course offers a good training to get started in the development of this CMS. The syllabus tries to cover all the fundamental aspects of backend development, from the basics to the most advanced implementations. For pure extension of the subject to be taught can not delve at the same level in all topics so I would recommend a good review once completed to those topics that have most interested or generated some difficulty. The chapters dedicated to the... [read more] |

27 March, 2025 Having completed the master's degree, and always in broad strokes, I leave a few lines with what has been my experience. To begin with, the course is very complete, both in terms of content and the way in which you learn, very dynamic and practical. It is for this last reason that I also consider the methodology to be very successful. Nothing is given for free at all. You have to make an effort and learn a lot and well along the way, otherwise you will not get ahead. It is... [read more] |
