Fantastic Drupal Training Experience

I have had experience with Drupal 5, 6 and 7 before taking this class. I had only dabbled in starting to create a module for Drupal 6 several years ago. Though I have always wanted to start Drupal development since I started playing with it in version 5, I was always busy with something esle and wasn't sure if I could do it.

I breezed through the first two sections of the course, the beginners and the intermediate. When I was about to the advanced section, we had a family crisis along with my regular job losing 3 people which caused my work hours to dramatically increase. I finally got back to the class about 3 months later expecting myself to breeze through the advance section and not realizing I only had a month to finish the class under the timeline. Fran and the Forcontu family were wonderful. They allowed me to extend my training by purchasing additional time.

I thoroughly enjoyed the class. There is a bit of Spanish to English translation problems with the pdf files here and there, but being able to ask questions about pretty much anything helped clear up any issues. And having the resources of other students who were also participating in the forums to ask questions helped becase sometimes the questions were already asked and answered in the forums.

The final for each section of the class were well done. They put to use the information used in that section and sometimes pushed you back to earlier information. My final project was challenging. Though I have created websites before, usually for myself or a friend, creating a website for something you choose means you could make it as hard or as easy as you'd like. I chose to make mine challenging for myself.

I worked on creating a website for the group CO Smiles which is a not-for-profit group based in Denver, Colorado that creates professional photographs for those who cannot afford professional photography or who are in a time of need in their lives. For example, the group offered the families whose homes were destroyed in forest fires to have free family photographs taken. CO Smiles also regularly gives family portraiture to those going through difficult situations at the Ronald McDonald Houses in Denver and Aurora. They also work with families who are making their ways into better life situations through charities around Denver.

Building a website for them was something I knew they wouldn't use since the group tends towards Facebook. It helped to know the group pretty thoroughly to know what would be needed and wanted, but at the same time it made my plans constantly change as I went along since I would think about new features I could implement or things I could do.

To summarize, if someone is thinking about starting Drupal training with Forcontu. Do it. I had a wonderful experience. In my class there were people who were obviously very adept at Drupal and some who struggled to get through. Our teacher was there to help all along the way, even if you had a question on the final project or on an exam.

I'm hoping to put my new learned knowledge into practice in building websites and hope to find a junior Drupal developer position. I can be found at TimNormanPhoto.com which is, and always will be, a website I have. Photography is a long time love too. If someone wants to ask me a question or follow up, please feel free to contact me there. Feel free to tweet at me too. Twitter.com/TimNorman.

A very complete drupal course, which has helped me to get out of my jam at a professional level.
I am very happy for what I learned and I am eager to start putting it all into practice.
Very grateful for the attention of my tutor during the course. Thank you for your patience and for answering all my questions during these months.
It is possible that I encourage me with other drupal courses since the way of explaining them I like a lot and also you have some notes for life.... [read more]

Perfect course to become a better drupaler

This is the perfect course to get a good grounding in Drupal and discover how the "guts" of Drupal work and the immense options of customisation by code.

Maybe for someone not used to programming in PHP the first part can be a bit difficult because it is based on learning to program in pure PHP OOP without seeing anything of Drupal, but thanks to Fran and his invaluable help it becomes bearable and solves the doubts and problems quickly.

The second part, already focused on Drupal... [read more]

Drupal 10 Front-End Course

Forcontu's course on Drupal 10 Front End Development was great. The contents are correct, give an idea and a fairly general overview about everything related to this part of Drupal development and are explained in a simple way. I loved that we were given practical examples and exercises to practice what we learned. The online community through the forum is also very useful to solve doubts and share ideas with other students. In addition, the structure of the course was very well organized,... [read more]

This has been a little harder than expected. Some things have been difficult... but with effort and with the help of Fran, who in some moments has shown a lot of patience, I have managed to overcome it. Finally you are left with a very good taste in your mouth.

I want to thank him for all the help he has offered. At all times he has been aware of how I was progressing and, at times, has answered very quickly, something to be grateful for in this type of course.

I am very happy... [read more]

Experience in Drupal 10 Course - Front End

fverdejo | Drupal 10 | Expert in Drupal 10 Front-End
26 February, 2024

I recently had the opportunity to enroll in a Front End with Drupal 10 course, and I must say that it exceeded my expectations in terms of its educational value and the depth of knowledge it provided. Throughout the course, I was able to gain a comprehensive understanding of Front End capabilities and how to leverage them effectively.

One aspect that really stood out for me was the course's emphasis on hands-on learning. The course provided hands-on exercises and real-world examples... [read more]

My experience in the Drupal 10 course (SiteBuilding)

I find the course very instructive, whether you have previous knowledge of Drupal or not. You can learn a lot and / or review content that you already knew but adding small details no less important that you overlooked. Where I could learn the most is in the sections of Drupal views, I was personally lacking of knowledge in that area.

The only "problem" that the course has is the lack of update of the Manual (pdf) attached to follow step by step the activities and that sometimes the... [read more]

I can say, without being embarrassed, that I started from scratch in this course. I didn't know how to create a content type or blocks and even less I had worked with views using contextual filters from a Drupal point of view. Although by that time I felt more confident because of my previous knowledge of Database. To all this new knowledge was incorporated a whole new philosophy of work, where the modules were surprising me more and more with its benefits to make the activities more... [read more]

Great Drupal Expert Course

Jesussp | Drupal 10 | Expert in Drupal 10 Site Building
23 February, 2024

My experience with the Drupal 10 Expert course, site Building is very satisfactory, it has allowed me to acquire new knowledge, both theoretical and practical.

On the other hand, I must highlight the great availability of the teacher and the speed in correcting and giving solutions to the problems that we can find when doing the activities proposed in each of the topics.

As far as the structuring of the topics is concerned, I can affirm that they are well structured and guide us... [read more]

Great course to get started in the world of Drupal. The Expert Drupal 10 Site Building course in particular is quite comprehensive, well structured and concise. In addition to the theoretical explanations, the course shows many practical examples and the proposed tasks help you to consolidate the theoretical knowledge acquired through the development of these.

The course shows a multitude of topics and modules of all kinds, from modules to design the presentation of your content or to... [read more]
