 My Drupal Experience so far

16 August, 2015 I just want to say what a great course this has been so far. I am really enjoying it and I feel the material is introducing me to the power of Drupal at just the right pace. I have found that the coursework covers a wide range of topics and is very well structured. In particular I think that the Practical exercises have been well thought out and make learning the difficult parts much easier. I am currently supporting a massive Drupal website at the University of Edinburgh which was built by another development team. It was scary to support at first (due to my lack of Drupal knowledge) but even after only completing the intermediate level of this scholarship, I have a better understanding of how the University website was built, making it much easier for me to support it from both a technical and user perspective. I am also building a website for the university which showcases the University Drupal website on mobile devices and highlights styles allowed in the university. So far I have done a lot of work with complex views and content types. The knowledge gained from this scholarship has already made the development of the site much easier and we are achieving goals much quicker, making the end result much better than I anticipated. Within the next few months, I will be able to showcase the site once its ready. Coming from a Joomla background, I am already seeing how much more power Drupal has and I am looking forward to the both the Expert coursework and the final project. Next month I am lucky enough to be going to DrupalCon in Barcelona where I am looking forward to mixing with many Drupal developers. |

Everything is explained quite clearly so you won’t run into any problems, and you can try out a wide variety of scenarios in each section.
